FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Double Monochromators for 10-9 to 10-10 Stray Light Rejection

Double Spectrometer Model 2035D
350mm focal length double monochromator (Model 2035D) for continuous wavelength tuning and excellent stray light rejection

McPherson's double spectrometers are configured by joining two instruments into either additive or subtractive dispersion double monochromators. The double additive monochromator includes optional mechanical linkage of two sine drives and wavelength control via single motor, high-resolution scan drive. Subtractive units may use single or dual motor drives depending on their configuration. Stepper drives are interfaced for operation via PC. McPherson double monochromators are available in focal lengths 200mm and greater. The pictured 350mm focal length double has f/4.8, ±0.07-nm accuracy in the visible, reproducibility of ±0.005 nm, and continuous stray light rejection of 10-9 to 10-10.

Applications include Raman or photoluminescence where strong Raleigh scatter must be suppressed to detect weak signal events. These doubles can be combined with an additional spectrometer for Triple Monochromator applications. Another typical application is source and detector standardization as performed by customers such as National Institute of Standards, NMi, NPL and others.

McPherson Double Spectrometers provide an ideal platform for today's exacting standards!
