McPherson, Inc. (Chelmsford, MA USA) ... Given growing popularity of 2-dimensional CCD detectors, astigmatic
imaging has been a requirement for more spectrometer and spectrograph installations.
McPherson instruments are available as 'imaging spectrometers.' Imaging spectrometers and spectrographs are equipped with reflective, aberration correcting optics. We also provide high performance CCD detectors and multiple fiber or line-of-sight / telescope optical input systems. McPherson instruments handle the compromise between imaging and best spectral resolution by allowing the user to insert and remove the corrective optic, as required for optical path or detector. McPherson spectrometers achieve both high resolution and astigmatic ~1:1 imaging. Learn a little more about the optics used in imaging spectrometers here. Most of our instruments can be equipped with optics for good spatial imaging. Most imaging work happens in the ultraviolet, visible and near infrared wavelength range. Popular imaging spectrometers are listed here.
